White Corn

Product Description

John Cope’s White Cut Corn, Silver Queen Style, steams up perfectly right in the bag. Our corn is actually processed when it is fresher than the corn available from many farmer stands.  Farm stand and other “fresh” produce is often harvested many days before you prepare it.  We move our produce from field to freezer quickly (usually within 8 hours) and lock in nutrients and flavor that vegetable retain only during the first few hours after harvesting.  It would be easier if we took more time; however, one of the Cope traditions, like that of many others in Pennsylvania Dutch country, has been to serve the sweetest and most tender vegetables around. We have a feeling that this is also your tradition.

Directions

Keep frozen. Frozen in time our product, our traditions. This side up when microwaving. Do not pierce bag. Microwave instructions: 1. Place unopened bag this side up in microwave. 2. Microwave on high for 4 to 5 minutes. *Microwaves will vary in power, cooking time may be outside this range. During cooking, the bag will inflate slowly. Special vent holes will allow steam to escape and a slight whistling sound may be heard. 3. Let stand for 1 minute. Carefully handle bag at top corners when removing from microwave. Hold bag over serving dish and open corner. Pour and enjoy! Stovetop Instructions: 1. Pour contents of bag and 1/4 cup water into saucepan. 2. Bring vegetables and water to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium. 3. Cover and cook vegetables 4 to 5 minutes until tender. 4. Drain and serve. *For food safety and quality, cook to a temperature of 160°F.
